Bastille day At Marche Bacchus

I have to hand it to Jeff and Rhonda Wyatt, they know how to throw a party. Marche Bacchus was packed with regular customers on Saturday, celebrating Bastille Day. The party kicked off with J.R. Starkus mixing up delicious cocktails courtesy of the nice folks at St. Germain. (How much do you love a company that uses antique erotica in its promotional materials?!?!?!) The ladies of Crazy Horse Paris made an early appearance. But the real fun came when 8 skydivers parachuted into the Lake at Desert Shores. Since I arrived late without a reservation, I was forced to seek refuge at John Curtas‘ table, which was made much more bearable by the presence of Alexandra Goranson and Bruce Bloch. While I was mainly there for the atmosphere and wine, Chef David Middleton was kind enough to whip up and order of sea urchin pasta for us to share, while Bruce tried some delicious vegetarian buckwheat crepes and Alex had coq au vin. Thanks to everyone for a great day.
