Michael Mina To Close SeaBlue At MGM Grand

Sad news from The Mina Group: SeaBlue at the MGM Grand will be closing its doors on Monday August 6.  Michael Mina and the resort are currently working together to develop  a new concept to occupy the space.  A this point, there’s no official word on when that might open. I also haven’t heard anything about where Chef Tony Schutz will be headed, or the future of SeaBlue in Atlantic City — but I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Personally, I’m sad to see SeaBlue go.  But the fact that Nobhill Tavern, Michael Mina Bellagio, American Fish and Strip Steak will continue to serve the chef’s amazing food while the powers that be re-design this space is a pretty decent consolation. I’m just glad I got to have a last meal here with friends a few weeks ago.

UPDATE — Word from the Mina Group is that SeaBlue Atlantic City will not be affected.  It will continue to remain open for business as usual.  So far, there is no word on the extraordinarily talented Chef Tony Schutz, who remains an employee of The MGM Grand.
