Party Like The Super Rich — Fabulously And Generously
on
So how do Las Vegas’ most fabulously affluent people party? Take a look at these pictures, documenting a Three Square fundraiser held Wednesday night at the incredible home of Diana Bennett, on the outskirt of McDonald Ranch. From what I’m told, Ms Bennett actually constructed this gorgeous residence primarily to throw fundraisers like this one, and the place may be the most incredible house I’ve ever been fortunate enough to visit. It included two kitchens stocked with chefs, nearly every type of food I could imagine, more pools than I could count, more models than I could flirt with (courtesy of fashion designer Zac Posen), a fully stocked wine cellar, etc, etc, etc.
If all of this seems a little extravagant, you need to realize it was all for a good cause. The hundreds of guests included some of the most affluent people in Las Vegas. Their generosity was astounding. I can’t tell you how many of them spent $10,000 or more on “auction items” that were nothing more than the opportunity to feed a certain number of hungry Nevadans for a week or a month. The people who don’t have that kind of cash pooled their resources – organizing teams to donate. The goal of each team was $10,000.
Well I don’t have 10 friends with $1,000 apiece to donate. I don’t have 100 friends with $100 apiece to donate. I’m hoping, however, that I might have 1,000 readers who enjoy these pictures enough to donate $10 – or maybe 2,000 who can afford $5 each. There’s nothing that would rock my world more than seeing a team of my readers and friends pool their resources to make the same donation the super-rich were making last night, but doing it in increments that we can all afford. You don’t have to be super-rich to understand there are people in this valley who don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A single $1 donation to Three Square will provide one of them with three meals. Everyone who visits this website loves food. Let’s show that includes making sure all of our neighbors get to eat every day.
So if you think experiencing this badass party vicariously was worth spending a buck or two to help those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from, click here to make a donation. I know they’re asking for a lot, but just click “other” and give what you can. Trust me, no amount is too small, and every dollar really does have a huge impact. And just for the hell of it, click the dedication option, and indicate you’re making this donation “in honor of” “The Bennett Bash,” – I’d like to keep track of how much small-timers like me are kicking in.
Thanks to Ms Bennett for her generosity for giving all of us this brief glimpse into a life I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford on my own. And as always, thanks to Three Square for all of their incredible work.
