I finally got into Red Square for the first time since The Light Group took over the Mandalay Bay vodka bar. The first piece of good news is they haven’t screwed with the décor. As for the menu, I was a little bummed to see that my favorite dish from the old menu, steak tartare, is no longer offered. But Chef Brian Massie and Chef Christopher Conlon have some great new offerings to make up for it. They’ve also added a lot of high-end vodkas to the menu, and have a great caviar selection. While I’m not going to review the place here, I will tell you the noodles in the stroganoff are so dam good on their own that the massive helping of braised short rib that accompanies them is really superfluous.
